Agile Planning and Estimation PDF Print E-mail
Any development approach juggles three variables: staff resources (cost), functionality, and schedule. Research and experience show that, of these these three, customers get most upset about missed schedules. In Scrum, we promise to do our best to deliver agreed functionality on that schedule. The only variable, then, is the amount of functionality itself. This implies that estimation is a crucial part of Scrum development.

In this session we'll learn a fun, quick and powerful group estimation technique called estimation poker.

Armed with this technique, you might be able to estimate whether you can build the Taj Mahal in full scale, in the yard at Stora Nyteboda, in a weekend, or to plan a trip to Mars in two months. It might seem difficult, but we will give you tools to show you how to do it. A very easy step by step approach.

It's all in planning and estimation.
